Commercial Property EPC
A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assesses the energy efficiency of a non-domestic property, giving it a rating from A+ (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It also highlights practical opportunities to reduce energy use, lower operating costs, and improve environmental performance. Commercial EPCs are typically required when a building is constructed, sold, or leased, helping owners, landlords, tenants, and buyers make informed decisions while meeting legal obligations.

What is involved in a commercial EPC survey?
The commercial EPC assessment process begins with a qualified commercial energy assessor visiting the property to carry out a detailed inspection. They collect information about the building’s construction, size and layout, heating, cooling, lighting, hot water systems and any renewable technologies. This information is then entered into approved software to calculate the building’s energy performance and produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which includes an energy rating and recommendations for improving efficiency.Domestic and Commercial EPCs are very different in terms of the methodolgy with commercial EPCs requiring many more complex facets.
